For the next two weeks, she couldn't move her arm without flinching and went to an orthopedic surgeon. "I went to Dr. Neil Roth and he told me that I had overextended my shoulder and that I had inflammation in that area," Bascolas explains. "I should stop all physical activity in the arm at this point and start physical therapy that too is embarrassing."
Nintendo will launch an online on-demand television channel through the Wii. The service will be known as Wiinoma and will have programmes supported by advertisements which would be broadcast all over Japan’s online console audience. Later on, these titles would be viewed on a pay basis.
The service will be generated by Japan’s biggest advertising agency, Dentsu. Wiinoma will have family oriented programmes with cartoons, cookery shows and educational programmes along with Quizzes. The service is supposed to start this spring in Japan. One of the senior executives of Fuji Television, Japan’s biggest commercial broadcaster commented that the success of Wiinoma could be a threat to the television producers.

DigiTimes has reported that Nintendo has placed extra orders with InvenSense, a component supplier who makes the rate gyroscope which is used in the upcoming MotionPlus Peripheral. The company has also forwarded a part payment to InvenSense in advance with this regard. This is an indication that the Japanese game maker company has strong growth prospects despite the weak economy.
It suggests that probably Nintendo is increasing their expected sale of Wii Sports Resort by increasing their estimate of MotionPlus demand. Activision released two free tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour. These two tracks have been taken from Jersey Native, Bruce Springsteen. The tracks were available from January 27th to February 4th on the PlayStation 3, XBox 360 and Wii. The tracks covered both the old and the new which were “My Lucky Day” and “Born to Run.”
The first track, My Lucky Day is a little tune from Springsteen new album ‘Working on a Dream’ which was also released on January 27th. Born to Run is of course, one of the great songs ever recorded. All the videos of the tracks are easily available through You Tube and one can catch them up!
Due to the holiday season, sale of Wii is on high along with the British newspaper’s scary stories. Two UK publications have issued articles relating that how playing on a Wii can cause physical damage to users. This is somewhat the same way like any physical motion could hurt somebody somewhere.
UK’s newspaper, The Daily Telegraph got the first lead on this issue describing how young doctors at Leeds Teaching Hospital have discovered about “Wii Knee.” However, there was no further mention of the term except mentioning the name. Following this news was The Sun which pointed out that ten people from Britain was hospitalized due to knee injuries each week. It also mentions the famous “Wii-itis” which was a 2007 favorite even before referring to Wii-knee.
Lazard Capital Market’s Colin Sebastian detailed out a list of games that are expected to release in 2009. With these releases, he believes that the industry will have a growth by 5%. There are 22 titles in the list and Colin included two new games, one is Legend of Zelda and new Princess Peach game for the DS.
Nintendo’s President, in the company’s E3 2008 press conference had insisted that the Zelda team was very hard at work on new titles which included the new Zelda, so we might get something on the game next year. Nintendo took a lot of time to put out Twilight Princess, so let’s hope it doesn’t take that long time for the next game.
